QUAKE LIVE was down in various regions throughout the night due to a DNS change over. These issues should resolve themselves within 48 hrs.

Probably a way to fix it
is to edit your hosts file, located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Open it with your texteditor and paste these lines:
64.127.102.238 www.quakelive.com
93.188.130.82 cdn-web.quakelive.com
64.127.102.228 xmpp.quakelive.com
93.188.134.19I cdn-assets.quakelive.com
62.24.201.51 cdn.quakelive.com
67.215.66.132 authorize.quake3arena.com
save it
Another fix
Change the DNS Server of your LAN-Connection to 204.152.184.76 and execute the following command in your dosbox to renew your DNS ipconfig /flushdns
You can change it back in a few days.

The impertinence in which way
The impertinence in which way id is treating the quakelive community is close to unbearable. They obviously don´t give a shit. Not only that the spawning system for de servers haven`t been fixed yet, they make laughable changes like large clan arena without having large maps or wallhacktriangulars, they don`t bring new maps, not even the old ones, for which the copyrights could have been negotiated easily by now, no private servers, nothing of those things the community is screaming for...

well i wonder if id software did not know about this before? or if they just forgot to inform the player about a 2day downtime..
