Nationscup 2010

lazy ass community or bad PR? or why sordo dont get this nationcup running?

Sordo, i have organised some Nations Cup back in ra3. It's the kind of cup where you are always sure to get at least 10 Nations. You should just announce the registrations (first captains registrations and then the line-ups). I'm sure ppl will join.

Hi, I was thinking since a while about running such a cup via ESL. But since I found noone to help me out with admining, I gave it up. However, I'm pretty sure it could be a success, I heard people are waiting for it! And if you need any help, feel free to contact me.

You should notice that the guys from House of Quake (HoQ) are somewhat planning to run a CA nations cup themselves. Compare for instance the poll on their league site. http://www.houseofquake.com/hoqleagues/ So be faster! :>

This is no longer fun to watch. In my Opinion no clan should ever host a NATIONSCUP, its not a randome 2v2 cup or something. In a few weeks we have 10 clans hosting 15 Nationcups.

It's possible to run own cups on Clanbase site as "Hosted Cups". So you don't need to create/open new website and nations can easily register.

AVA clan and all the staff from the last AVA league did an impressive work. All the clans enjoyed the league, now with this site as an umbrella AVA and many others could do a fantastic work creating competitions. I'm pretty sure that all the staff of this new nations cup will do a terrific work, bcos they got the experience and they rly know what the players want. I will not take so much care about hoq nations, it's nice to see their random cups and stuff but imo this is a "serious business".

I would offer the ESL as platform for a CA nationscup... i finally got in there and i think it should be possible to use the ESL as platform for this. I agree with griü, AVA and HoQ doing a great job with their leagues and i totally enjoy them. But when it comes to puplicity it might be better to run a nationscup on a bigger platform. :) We wont get a offical ENC slot for CA, but i think we can do our own nations stuff and i totally would invite the already very experienced managers of the other leagues and cups to help me out there. :) If possible i'll try to join the meeting on thursday, but cant promise it yet.

I guess ESL would be a nice platform for a NC since it well known by everybody. I think your website is really unclear tho but that's just my opinion. With the summer break coming up, whether it's ESL or AVA or anybody else who host the NC, it has to be fast.

i guess the esl site is better to navigate then CB but in the end its just up to everybody, if u put just some minutes into the site to learn how it works, u can catch it easily for every site. ;) the factor that the esl is well known is imo the best option, if things goes well i think ca would gather more players and when we get a really good NC going we even might get a show for the finals on esl tv. At least we will proof that CA dont need to hide back behind tdm or ctf when it comes to activity. :)

Do we really need all the serious things from ESL? I mean, we just need the competition and the rules, not a rigid system that need the creation of teams, dates and all the stuff... I don't know if you get my point. The AVA league wasn't so pro as CB or ESL in system but was amazing at all for players. Think about it, a good platform makes no warranty of a good experience for players.

u are defintely right there grip... but how do u create the NC teams then? u need captains, u need accounts which can be created by each team individually and not by the organisation of the league. for a NC it would be great to have some PR, even AVA did a great job, its just a very small community cause noone outside of the CA scene noticed it. but i guess this should be discussed on thursday, i just offered the posibilty, how it will be done is totaly up to how the majority of the involved people decides. :)

Well this is a CA community, no one on any pro site gives a shit for CA either CA players. We all known all or at least the most of CA players... btw we are no kids, in fact we don't need rules at all bcos this isn't a try for an unknown league. No one gonna try to fuck the organization, no one gonna try to lame... this isn't div6 CB we all know about sportmanship and manners. We just need a few admins, a bit of organization, team rosters and go ahead.

just take a look @ QQC Quake Quick Cups arkarius - simple site good coverage with streaming etc. and players love it. It doesnt need a CB or ESL site.
